..UPDATES SEPTEMBER 2005../SEPTEMBER 29th 2005: A gorgeous new picture of the week! Also available as a wallpaper! ../SEPTEMBER 27th 2005: I've read some things about Tori's new album, due 2007. Here's what Wikipedia said about the new album: Amos' next album, her third full-length release for Sony/Epic, is tentatively due for a release in 2007. No recordings have been made, although Amos has spoken about intended songs for inclusion. In an interview in May 2005 she stated that she has not got a particular sound ready for her next album, "which usually means we're doing something quite different." She played a new 12-minute song on piano at a sound check in Bonn, Germany, on June 23, 2005, [which is available at turbidblue] and later told a fan that she hoped it would be on her next album, which featured the refrain "I heard you scream from the other side of the mountain."
In an August 2005 interview for In Newsweekly magazine, she stated that she had been working on new material,
and soon after described the new songs as "little embryos". At a concert on August 23, 2005, Amos stated
that she was inspired to write three new songs after visiting the water park in Saratoga Springs for her
birthday, and then in an interview the following day said that there were some songs that she had been
working on for several years that may appear on the next album; Amos also stated that she has "a Warrior
Woman inside of [her] that will come out on the next record."In her 2005 book Piece by Piece, Amos also wrote about a song called "Melusine", which she said is linked with "Marys of the Sea" from the album The Beekeeper. "Melusine" is expected to appear on the next album, a fact verified by author Neil Gaiman on his website journal as early as October 2004. Neil Gaiman has written the following about this on his website journal: I'm like everyone else outside of that Cornwall house, including all the people at Epic Records. None of us have heard anything of the actual album yet -- Tori's playing this one really mysterious and extremely close to her chest. She played me seven unfinished songs, last Winter solstice, when I stayed over in Cornwall, and I thought they were very fierce and beautiful; then she called me a couple of months ago to check a few things about Melusine, and sang me the song in which she appears [Marys Of The Sea] (but has also just told me that that song won't be on this album, and actually is for the one after). She seems to be enjoying having a really intimate relationship with the music. ("We're still dating," she told me. "Going out for coffee together. Just the two of us.") But she's promised that I'll hear it before the next Winter solstice, and I'm very happy to wait and see. Read more about a Melusine here. ../SEPTEMBER 26th 2005: I've added the two new official bootlegs to the Albums section. And there are five new manipulated photos, I've made them as a split screen, so you can see what they looked like before they were altered. Also, one new wallpaper and a few Beecons. ../SEPTEMBER 22nd 2005: A few new sections are finished: Lyrics: all B-side lyrics are up; Collections: Songbooks; everything about Tori's Songbooks; and the Books section, which covers all released books. There are also some new photos. ../SEPTEMBER 20th 2005: I've made video stills of Tori's performance of Sweet The Sting on Jay Leno. I was browsing the net the other day, and I came across two sites I'd never seen before. The first site features Tori and her Short list of Music that she compiled for them. Amongst the CDs is Sigur Ros' "( )" and Mogwai's "Happy Songs For Happy People". You can see the list here. The other site I saw featured a Tori Amos Mixtape, presented by Costa Zouliou from Triple J, Australian Radio. The program is an hour long, and you can listen to it at Triple J's website, where you can also listen to several other interviews and see photos from Tori's performance at the Sydney Opera House. The list contains the following songs: ![]()
