../QUOTES
"I've always wondered why we as women want a man who doesn't seem to really value us and I've made different choices in that over the years, but not always. And this record really explores I think what happens when you do choose something that's supportive of yourself and when you walk a more self-destructive path."

"I'm fascinated by people's definitions of sin. Sometimes I think the greatest sin is intolerance of other people's choices. There isn't the compassion and openness you'd think there would be in a spiritual belief system."

"I wanted to look at how you can uncover what you believe in as a spiritual, sexual creature. You don't need the approval of your family, or of their religion. You can think, "Wait a minute, I'm a spiritual being. Just because I like gold handcuffs doesn't mean I'm not a spiritual being.""

"There was such strength being a masked woman who seemed to know the secrets. And then stepping into the woman that has been avoiding looking at the depth of a certain story in her life. And only until she looks at it can she stop the pattern, stop repeating it in different ways in her life. She's a destructive character. And that's why she's got to break to chain. And yet, it's a choice, isn't it. If you choose to, if you're attracted to destructive situations, then how do you break that attraction? And that's the key, if she's able to go back to those pivotal points in her different relationships where she almost gets a high out of hurting herself, she becomes addicted to it. Then she can get to a place where she is not attracted to it anymore. But she's not there yet. And that's why I think the other woman is taking her to a point of view looking at her involvement in it. She's not just a victim anymore, our Ophelia. She seems to be drawn to these really demeaning relationships and situations." - about Ophelia

"The greatest sin has got to be needing to control another person to the point where they have let go of their selfworth for you. Because you've manipulated them so cleverly. And people do it in ways where they won't even hold their hand up and say "I'm doing this to another person". Because sometimes you do it out of envy, but what is power? It comes back to power. Abnormally Attracted To Sin is really about power. What power turns you on? What are you drawn to? Somebody's that's gonna crap all over you? Because a lot of us have been. And that could be a mentor that we're drawn to who doesn't want to see our talent or our ability. But we want them so much to see it. And if we get their approval somehow, their blessing, their acknowledgement, then my god we've achieved something. And they may never give it to you. Cos that's how they keep you right where you are."
